This exhibition celebrated special events in the history of Warrington Museum, including the opening of the main art gallery in Oct 1877.

From its creation in 1848 Warrington Museum has amassed significant collections including works by prominent local Victorian artists who acquired a national reputation as regular exhibitors at the Royal Academy.

Times?  The museum is open Monday to Friday between 10am-4.30pm, and Saturdays between 10am-4pm.  It is closed on Sundays and Bank Holidays.

Travel and parking: 

  • By bus: Warrington Bus Station is a 7 minute walk away
  • By train: Warrington Bank Quay Station is a 5 minute walk away. Warrington Central Station is a 7 minute walk away.
  • By bike: Cycle racks are located outside the Warrington Library entrance on Museum Street.
  • By car: Drive to the town centre and follow the brown signs to the Cultural Quarter. Parking is available for Blue Badge holders on Museum Street.  There is limited free parking in the Pyramid car park (on Museum Street), please ask for a pass from the Pyramid’s Box Office.  Other public car parks, and a printable map.
